Building a healthy working relationship with fisherfolk who utilize Managed Access Area 3 is vital to protected areas management and maintaining marine resource sustainability. Thus, SEA’s Education and Outreach team ventures on two-day boat-to-boat outreach activities with the objectives of (1) conducting short educational talks about lobster or conch regulations; (2) collecting catch logbooks from fisherfolk; (3) providing reminders on Managed Access regulations; (4) addressing or receiving any concerns fisherfolk might have. SEA’s Education team is often accompanied by a representative from the Belize Fisheries Department to execute this outreach activity
